| Academic-industrial Cooperation between NCYU and GreenRock Energy Group to Create “Added Value with Green Energy Based on Fishery” |
On the morning of Oct. 30th, National Chiayi University and Lusheng Energy Co., Ltd. signed a letter of intent for 3-year academic-industrial cooperation worth NT$5 million. A subsidiary of the GreenRock Energy Group, the company is in charge of managing the energy farming system in the Chiayi region. NCYU attendees included President Chyung Ay, Office for Academia-Industry Collaboration and Continuing Education Director Jan-Jeng Huang, and teachers from the Department of Aquatic Biosciences. Attendees also included Lusheng Energy Co., Ltd. Chairman Yeh Meng-Heng and Deputy General Manager Lai Ming-Hong, Yi-Jing Solar System Solutions Ltd. Chairman Zhou Yao-Yuan, and other supervisors. In the days to come, they will collaborate to build the big data of fishery and electricity symbiosis farms in Budai Township, develop the management APP, offer aquaculture consulting services, and conduct post-operation environmental testing, among others. The company will provide NCYU with opportunities for teacher-student exchange workshops, on-site visits, student internships and employment opportunities, with a view to creating a win-win situation and shared prosperity for the development of fishery industry in Chiayi.
According to President Chyung Ay, in conjunction with the national green energy policy, NCYU has been working together with Lusheng Energy Co., Ltd. to cultivate professional practitioners for the industry over the years. As Chiayi County is currently the pioneering area for the symbiosis of fishery and electricity in Taiwan, the establishment of a cooperative strategic alliance is hoped to help facilitate the exchange of science and technology and on-site practice training for both sides. The objective is to facilitate synergy between the academic and industrial worlds, improve breeding efficiency and output value, enhance diversified development, and help the government in promoting the development of low-carbon energy transition and green energy utilization.
Yeh Meng-Heng, Chairman of Lusheng Energy Co., Ltd. said that he was honored to work with NCYU to implement the “Lusheng Energy Co., Ltd. Fishery and Electricity Symbiosis Plan in Budai,” which aims to build a fishery and electricity symbiosis breeding model. To create “added value with green energy based on fishery,” they will cooperate in planning, designing and implementing, while taking into account the fishery ecological environment and the rights and interests of fishermen. By establishing a positive cooperation mechanism, both hoped to achieve the goal of resources exchange and sharing, and facilitate academic-industrial cooperation.
