Taitai both teams NCYU College of Life Sciences Signs Exchange and Cooperation Agreement with College of Veterinary Medicine, Kasetsart University, Thailand

An interdisciplinary academic delegation composed of the College of Life Sciences and College of Veterinary Medicine, National Chiayi University, carried out academic exchange at Kasetsart University (KU), Thailand, in mid-December. The NCYU College of Life Sciences also signed an exchange and cooperation agreement with the KU College of Veterinary Medicine that enables more effective cooperation on academic exchange, teacher and student visits and research collaboration. It also ensures more substantial interaction in terms of research and education on biodiversity and “One Health.”

According to the delegation, one of their major missions during the trip was having a talk with Kongsak Thaingtum, Dean of the College of Veterinary Medicine, KU, and Dr. Flavie Goutard, organizer of an emerging disease risk management international program. A plan was also formed for the College of Life Sciences and College of Veterinary Medicine, NCYU, to co-organize the International Symposium on Biodiversity and Health in Southeast Asia, in its third edition, with the KU College of Veterinary Medicine, GREASE, a regional network dedicated to better management of emerging epidemic risks in Southeast Asia, and Southeast Asia Academic Exchange Union in 2018. The goal is to facilitate exchange in biodiversity conservation and emerging disease research between NCYU and Southeast Asian countries.
