About Us
The Language Center of National Chiayi University (NCYU) was established in 2002. The mission of the center is to assist the University in meeting the challenges of the increasingly internationalized nature of higher education.
To fulfill this mission, the center is responsible for:

Providing the students, staff and faculty of National Chiayi University various software and hardware facilities for the use of language teaching and learning.

Designing freshman and sophomore English curricula.

Holding various English activities to motivate students in learning English.

Providing various English conversation sessions.
-
Providing self-access and remedial programs.

Conducting summer study tours with partner institutions in English-speaking countries.

Conducting culture fairs to acquaint with foreign cultures.
-
Promoting the University’s international exchange programs.

Offering continuing education language classes to both native and foreign residents.

Providing CSL (Chinese as a Second Language) programs.

Equipping with CSL software, books, and magazines.

There are two multimedia language classrooms located in the Multi-purpose Instruction Building. There are 60 computers and 60 headsets in lab A, 54 computers and 54 headsets in Lab B.

The multimedia classroom is on the third floor of Creative Building.
There are 20 computers, 20 headsets and other required equipments.

There are 52 computers and 52 headsets and other required equipments.
