Third-year students from the Department of Bio-industry and Agribusiness Administration, National Chiayi University, won the prize money and trophy for the Creative Award in “Atunas Cup Creative Marketing Planning Competition 2014” with their brand creative marketing project. Led by Li Jun-Yan, professor of the department, students including Pan Mei-Jun, Chen Si-Min, Jiang Xie-Juan, Zheng Wan-Jing, Lu Min-Xuan, Jane Fang-Wen and Zhou Zhi-Cheng joined the contest organized by Atunas Co., Ltd. Competition was fierce with only two of the 133 teams from colleges nationwide to be given the creative awards.

Prof. Li Jun-Yan indicated that the contest aims to elicit ideas on how to enhance the competitiveness of the Atunas brand and products. After much brainstorming with him, the team showed great briefing skills and planning potential, which won them acclaim from the director-general and manager of Atunas, and the judging panel. Their creative originality was key to their exceptional achievement in their competition debut.

Pan Mei-Jun mentioned that teachers of the department have been encouraging them to participate in external competitions, which is a great way to exercise and showcase their abilities and accumulate experiences. They also have been reminding them of the importance to demonstrate their creativity in the workplace after graduation. To finish the proposal, they spent a whole month of discussions and revisions back and forth with their advisor in their spare time.

While all the team members have their business and homework to attend to, Jane Fang-Wen said, they could hardly find the time for group discussions. No matter how busy they are, they squeezed in a few hours to collate the proposal, sparing no effort in preparing for the competition. That explained why they have been able to win the award within a short period of time.
