Degree                                  M.S. and/or Ph.D. 

Other GradeRequirements   Candidates for admission must possess a Baccalaureate (or equal) and/or a Master   
                                             degree for applying the M.S. or Ph.D. program, which are deemed by the Faculty of the 
                                             Institute of NCYU. 

Probation Policy                   Follow graduate school policy 

Specific Courses                   No 

Specific Credits                    A minimum of 30/36 graduate-level credits are required for completion of the regular 
                                            M.S./Ph.D. degree. The thesis/dissertation counts for six/twelve of the 30/36 graduate 
                                            credits. The remaining credits are determined by consultation between the student and
                                            the student’s Supervisory Committee. 

Examinations                        A satisfactory thesis/dissertation embodying contributions to independent research 
                                             must be presented and defended successfully in a public oral examination. Students
                                             may be also required to assist in the teaching of at least one undergraduate course. 

Other assessments                No 

Language Requirements     Candidates whose native language is not Chinese must demonstrate their capacity to
                                            pursue a graduate-level program in Chinese, or candidates may be required to take the 
                                            courses of Chinese as overseas students after entrance. 

Advisor                                 Advisor must be chosen as soon as possible after entrance 

Review Policy                      Advisor ongoing.
