Ya-Yu Chan was born in Chia-yi City, Taiwan, she began her music studies with her parents at age of 4. Ya-Yu Chan holds a M.M. from the University of Mississippi under professor Stacy Rodgers. Ms. Chan is currently lecturer of piano at the Department of the NCYU. Her specialties are piano performance, piano pedagogy and Music education on Carl Orff Method、Movement & Dance. Ms. Chan has published articles on scholastic magazines and has been a NCYU part-time lecturer for 16 years.

She has been a NCYU lecturer since 1993.
