Dr. Duan had won numerous competitions in both Taiwan and United States including 2007 Bradshaw& Buono International Piano Competition, New York,
2004 Los Angelas Liszt International Piano Competition, 2004 Fletcher & Nell Morris National Piano Competition, and 2004 Rio Hondo Symphony Orchestra Concerto Competition. Besides, in the year of 2005, she got the chance to have a concert in Carneigie Hall in New York, sponsored by Artist International Management. 

Dr. Duan currently is in the position of Artist in residence in National Chiayi University. Besides, she has joined as a faculty member of the music department at the National Chia-Yi University and Tainan University of Technology among other schools since 2009.  Dr. Duan received her D.M.A degree from the Claremont Graduate University in the United States, M.M. degree from the Mannes College of Music in New York and a B.A. degree from the Soochow University in Taiwan.
