The first semester of a full year course that is designed to provide a theoretical study of the behavior of matter in the gaseous, liquid and solid states through analysis of the principles of thermodynamics, chemical kinetics and equilibria, chemistry of solutions, atomic and molecular structure, and statistical thermodynamics. 3 hours lecture per week.
