Professional Bachelor Program of Farm Management, PBPFM
Introduction
Professional Bachelor Program of Farm Management (PBPFM), NCYU was established according to the Scheme for Cultivating New Generation Agricultural Workers proposed by the Council of Agriculture. The aims is to train more professionals to engage in the farming industry. The program combines hands-on applied coursework and core business principles with emerging technologies and sustainable methods.
Faculty
Two graduate coordinators are assigned to lead the program and team up with the members of Agricultural Extension Center, College of Agriculture, College of Life Science, College of Engineering and Science, and College of Management. The professors are all experts in agriculture, production, marketing and business management.
Courses
Course offerings are structured to provide not only a strong basis of formal academic instruction but also considerable hands-on field and collection experience to train students skills and expertise needed in farming, horticulture, fishery and animal science. Students are trained to apply what they have learn in agricultural science research, education, promotion, and industry management to the business they choose. The diverse faculty strives to guide and monitor students’ learning. The program offers a four-year scholarship from the government. Therefore, after graduation, students must work in a self-owned farm or other farm recognized by the school and engage in agriculture production or management for at least four years. If fail to do so, they have to pay back their tuition covered by the scholarship.
Career opportunities
Graduates of the program could pursue careers in different areas.
1. They can manage their own farms or work in management in farming related businesses.
2. They can advance their studies in graduate institutes in the country or abroad, and study farming and management.
